The south remains strong in the upper house of league sailing. After winning in Constance, the German Touring Yacht Club (DTYC) also came out on top in Berlin, securing the ideal score of just one point for the winner's account for the second time this season. With a total of just ten points and a one-point lead over Lindauer Segler-Club (LSC), the DTYC team leads the league standings. The Seglerhaus am Wannsee (VSaW) club is in third place in the standings, having sailed to sixth place in their home fixture, and is close behind the two leading clubs with a total of 15 points.

However, there is already a gap of nine points behind the top trio ahead of the final two league weekends in Kiel and Hamburg. The Chiemsee Yacht Club (24 points) is in fourth place in the table after seventh place on the Wannsee, ahead of the Bayerischer Yacht-Club (30 points) and the Württembergischer Yacht-Club (34 points). The dominance of the southern clubs is also striking because the two-time German champions from the Norddeutscher Regatta Verein are weakening for the first time this season. After the victory at the start of the season, which Olympic participant Tobias Schadewaldt and his crew brought to the NRV, the northern lights with other helmsmen no longer really got off to a good start. After finishing 12th (Constance), 16th (Travemünde) and 9th (Berlin), they are only in eighth place in the table for the time being ahead of the two remaining league weekends.

The capital city weekend demanded a lot of patience and good nerves from the sailors in a total of only 21 rounds in the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga in difficult flat conditions with long waiting periods. The reigning champions from the DTYC were able to adapt best. Helmsman Julian Stückl said: "We had to contend with very difficult conditions here in Berlin. We were very lucky and are very happy to have won here. If you want to become champion, you have to be able to cope with all conditions. We are very happy."

In the 2nd Bundesliga, it was the northern clubs that maintained the best overview in the light wind conditions. The Mühenberger Segel-Club narrowly beat the Bremen sailing club "Wappen von Bremen" and the third-placed Blankeneser Segel-Club. With its second victory of the season, the young MSC team has also taken the lead in the standings ahead of the Bremen team. Third in the table is the Hamburger Segel-Club (HSC), who sailed to eighth place in Berlin.

For the second division teams, the matches in Berlin marked the penultimate weekend in the league. Their showdown will take place on the Kiel Fjord in just four weeks' time. This is where the decisions will be made as to who will be promoted directly to the 1st Bundesliga, who will go into the relegation play-offs and who will qualify. The starting shots for the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga will be fired on 16 September on the Kiellinie.
